Thank you for entering the world of SIRENS

Thank you for entering the world of SIRENS 〰️

From the bottom of my heart, thank you. Over three days in Brixton, SIRENS came out of the studio and into the world, and you were there to meet her. Every hug, every happy tear and every word of encouragement meant more than I can say.

To everyone who came through the doors, shared the work, held the space and believed in this vision: you made the opening real.

After more than two decades of exploring the Siren as muse and archetype, this exhibition marked the first unveiling of a deeply personal body of work: a portal into an evolving creative world, and the beginning of a much larger eco-system.

WHAT HAPPENED

For three days, Downstairs at The Department Store became a living temple to the feminine mysteries of water. The Private View on Friday evening opened the doors with live music, a DJ, drinks and a room full of friends, family and new faces. On Saturday and Sunday, the gallery opened to everyone to wander among the paintings at their own pace, meet the work up close and take a piece of SIRENS home in the form of prints, jewellery and sacred objects.

The weekend also marked the launch of the SIRENS Oracle Card Deck, the first step into a much wider world of water work, education, healing and ancient remembering. Below are some moments from the exhibition. Tap any photo to view it larger.

“I felt like I had stepped beneath the surface into another world. The paintings are portals.”

A guest’s words (replace with a real comment)

SIRENS is an exploration of the feminine, the mythic and the elemental: the unveiling of a body of paintings that has emerged and evolved over more than two decades.

Here, the sea becomes both landscape and interior world: a place of memory, desire, transformation and return. The Siren exists at its threshold, neither wholly woman nor creature, neither of land nor sea.

These works reclaim the Siren as sovereign and self-possessed: sensual without apology, mysterious without explanation, belonging ultimately to herself. These works are portals.
